Gold at the Edges
Analog double-exposure. Bloom and wither coexist, celebrating the full cycle of life.
Film holds two moments in one frame. This dahlia is still glowing gold at the centre — and the curl of dried, spent petals has already arrived, woven into the same bloom. This isn't the closing scene of a tragedy. It's what a full life actually looks like: blooming and ageing were never two separate stories. The warm light leaking in at the frame's edge is time's own signature — proof of a life lived brightly, and proof of the wear that came with it. Faust longed to freeze a beautiful moment in place; this piece chooses something different — to simply, honestly record the moment where both are still true at once.
This print is not just a limited edition — it's a position within an ongoing study. Each print carries a number that isn't just an edition count — it marks a specific place in the sequence of this continuing exploration.
When you take one of these five, your name (if you'd like it recorded) becomes part of the studio's collector register — part of the piece's story from here on. You're welcome to write back and tell us what this one says to you, or message the studio about a bespoke variation.
Each size in which this piece is offered is limited to five prints. Once a size finds its five people, that particular size closes — the study continues in whichever sizes remain.
